Program Overview |

MacEwan's Bachelor of Science degree is a foundational or general degree. It provides graduates with generalist knowledge and skills highly valued in a dynamic world economy. The program also offers high transferability for the first two years, so students retain the option to transfer to other institutions. Students may also choose one of the pre-professional program streams including, pre-dental hygiene, pre-dentistry, pre-medical laboratory science, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, and pre-veterinary medicine.

The Bachelor of Science degree program is comprised of 120 credits of coursework with 6 majors: biological sciences, computer science, mathematics, mathematical sciences (in which students focus on two of mathematics, statistics or computer science), physical sciences (in which students focus on two of physics, chemistry or earth and atmospheric sciences) and psychology. Minors are offered in biological science, chemistry, computer science, earth and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, physics, psychology, and statistics
Students in the BSc program will be eligible to take a business studies minor or any minor offered in MacEwan's arts degree

Students in the university-transfer programs at MacEwan study at the City Centre Campus, a modern complex that contains 60 classrooms, 21 computer labs, 40 instructional labs and a conference theatre. The campus also features a library, which includes a learner centre and learning skills centre. The library contains diverse research resources, including books, government documents, clipping series and other assorted print and media materials. The learner centre is designed to assist students by providing specialized educational resources including audiovisual and computing equipment, resources for audio- and video-editing, and teleconferencing studies. The learning skills centre offers individual advising to students seeking to target specific areas for academic improvement. MacEwan also has a 700-bed student residence.
